Death Motes in New World are found in Blightcrags, Blightmoths, and Blightroot. You'll need to be at least level 50 in mining to mine Blightcrags, and you'll need to reach harvesting levels 0 and 30 to harvest Blightmoths and Blightroot, respectively.
While players can try and monitor the trading market for a Death Mote, it’s much easier to know where some are. This allows players to harvest as many as they need and not rely on third parties to gather the resources they need.
How to find Death Motes in New World
Used for: Death motes are used in recipes for Arcana, Furnishing, Stonecutting, and Weaponsmithing.
They’re derived from Blightroot, a plant located west and northeast of Lake Genevieve, southeast of Noble Reach, and Arcturus and Weaver’s Fen, Blightcrag, a mining node found in First Light, Windsward, Everfall, and Monarch’s Bluff, and Blightmoth, a gathering resource found in First Light and Everfall.
Blightmoths are rare throughout Aeternum but can be found in large numbers in the northeast corner of Ebonscale Reach and a spot nearby in Great Cleave. These territories are for high-level characters, so be wary if you're venturing in at a low level.
To cut the starting gems, sapphire and moonstone, players need two Death Motes. For some of the more advanced stonecutting items, like an Eternal Heart, 50 or more of the Motes are required. So players should get to work finding some Blightroots.
